Software Engineer

We have an opening vacancy for a motivated Operational Systems (OSS) Engineer with these criteria:

• Telecommunications/Systems/Software Engineering degree and exposure to network technologies with between 1 to 3 years experience. 
• Applicants must be comfortable working with GNU/Linux systems and have Java/perl application development experience. 

Ideally you'll be be familiar and skilled in the following areas:

• Understanding of the SLDC and associated development/testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
• Thorough understanding and practical knowledge of Object Oriented Design and design patterns
• Familiarity with a Linux console, associated tools and package management systems- Working knowledge of Mercurial/git revision control tools 

And you also must have:

• Experience in Linux system automation with bash/perl
• Working knowledge of MVC frameworks
• Strong TCP/IP networking skills and knowledge of enterprise network technologies (ie. MPLS/VPLS)
• Worked in a Telco or ISP building provisioning and assurance tools and systems
• Knowledge of industry standards such as the TMForum Frameworx
• Experience with Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Camel, Apache ServiceMix Applicants must flexible and adaptive, able to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge. 

You will be working in a team environment so written/verbal communication skills are of the upmost importance. Mentoring and training will be provided to accelerate your career. Software/Network/Hardware projects developed in your own time are highly regarded and we are very keen to hear about them!
